In spite of many challenges, including implementing this approach in the middle of a pandemic, Patient Priorities Care has endured. There is clearly an appetite at Cleveland Clinic for Patient Priorities Care (PPC), and it has been a core pillar of our Strategic Sprint in 2021.

PPC as “Current Care Planning” helps clinicians on the front line with the utilization of quality outcome metrics and aligns well as the “Matters Most” M of the Age-Friendly Health Systems “4-Ms”. Overall, there is excitement about how PPC improves clinician-patient relationships, as well as a practical, metrics-based argument for the implementation and integration of the PPC approach into healthcare encounters.
